Great Neck Branch Volunteered at Great Neck park district famers market 7/30/2023

On July 30th, from 10am to 2pm, the Great Neck Branch and Heartik official collaborated to volunteer at the Great Neck Park District Damets market, showcasing an array of beautiful artwork, bracelets, LEGO sets, rings, and earrings. In addition to the creative items for sale, we also provided delightful face painting for kids and adults alike.

The primary purpose of this event was to raise funds for a charity sale benefiting underprivileged children. We were ecstatic to witness the immense success of today’s sale, as the generous community eagerly supported our cause. Thanks to everyone’s contributions and support, we were able to sell a significant amount of merchandise, allowing us to make a substantial donation to the charity.
However, what truly touched our hearts was the selflessness displayed by one young child parent who had their face painted. They donated $20 of their own money to help the needy children, a gesture that surprised and deeply moved us. Their act of kindness reminded us of the importance of coming together as a community to make a difference in the lives of others.
Moreover, this event was not just about raising funds; it provided a valuable learning experience for all of us. Throughout the day, we learned the art of effective communication and the courage to initiate conversations with one another and the visitors. As a result, we not only sold our creations but also forged lasting friendships with those who shared our passion for helping others.
Overall, the event was an immense success, not only in terms of the funds raised but also in the invaluable lessons we took away from it. The joy of giving back to the community and the spirit of camaraderie we experienced will undoubtedly inspire us to continue organizing similar events in the future, making a positive impact on even more lives.
