Greater Princeton AYLUS Presents Earthquake Disaster Relief Benefit Concert and Awards Contributors in March 2023

ONE MONTH AFTER TURKEY AND SYRIA EARTHQUAKES, MILLIONS OF CHILDREN STILL IN NEED.

The first quake came in the early hours of Feb. 6. Without warning, buildings swayed and toppled as parents in Turkey and Syria pulled sleeping children from their beds and rushed out into the cold, wet winter night.

Since then, three more major earthquakes have hit the region, along with over 11,000 aftershocks. More than 850,000 children remain displaced, their homes damaged or destroyed. The combined death toll has surpassed 50,000, with thousands more injured.

Hoping to support and uplift the spirits of survivors from the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake, the Greater Princeton Branch of Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (GPA of AYLUS) created a virtual concert. AYLUS members also collected and delivered disaster relief donations (medicine, blankets, clothing and more) to help with the disaster relief.

The AYLUS National Honorary President Cassie Wang (3/14, 8 hrs; 3/15, 8 hrs; 3/16, 8 hrs) edited and produced the Benefit Concert Video and shared the video with Turkish musicians. We hope this video was able to provide some comfort to survivors and we wish them a speedy recovery.

Cassie Wang also signed over 60 award certificates, prepared by Lana Cheng (3/15, 3 hrs), for all performance participants as well as outstanding contributors to the benefit concert.

Honorary Certificates are proudly awarded to the following students in recognition of his/her outstanding efforts and dedication (concert organizers, editors) to help with the earthquake disaster relief:
