Starting on March 7th , volunteers from the AYLUS Frisco-Plano branch continued to sort books into their suggested reading levels. There were three categories of books: books for grade levels kindergarten to 3rd grade, 4th and 5th grade level books, and 6th to 8th grade level books. The Libraries with Love organization will collect those books and ship them to build a library in an economically underdeveloped country in Africa. Any books not suitable for children under 8th grade will be sold at a reduced cost to fund the shipment of the K-8 level books.
The volunteers will work throughout spring break to ensure the books are sorted and delivered within the required time frame. Over two thousand books must be organized into categories for transportation. All of the volunteers have been working hard to assist in the mission.
