Greater Princeton AYLUS Promotes Youth Volunteerism with Chess Tournaments & Classes at Mercer County Library (90th) in November 2022

In November, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) Sports Committee continued its tournament fundraiser along with weekly chess classes at the Mercer County Library in West Windsor.

GPA Sports Committee has resumed in person chess classes at the West Windsor Branch Library. Every Tuesday from 5:15 to 6:15 pm, GPA holds a beginner class open to everyone in the activity room at the library. This week, it was the first class, and we introduced ourselves, and taught how to set up the chessboard with a creative story and the point value of the pieces. Everyone had a great time learning how to set up a chessboard and competing with other students. With more people joining the ABC Chess Club, even more kids play quality chess against other curious learners.

GPA Volunteers: Henderson Han (11/22, 1.5 hrs), George Chen (11/22, 1.5 hrs), Jing Fan (11/22, 1.5 hrs), and more.
