AYLUS Garden City volunteers continued their Senior Tech Help program at the Garden City Senior Center on November 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM.
During the session, students Luis, Daniel and Micheal assisted seniors with everyday technology needs and answered their questions. One volunteer helped a senior set up a new phone and transfer data from the previous device. Students guided the senior through the setup process, helping transfer information and get the new phone ready for use.
For many seniors, switching to a new device can be challenging. Through patient guidance and hands-on support, students helped make the transition easier while giving seniors greater confidence in using their technology.
The program provides students with meaningful opportunities to develop communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills while serving older members of the community. It also encourages connections across generations through knowledge sharing and mutual support.
Through these ongoing sessions, AYLUS Garden City hopes to continue bridging the digital divide and making technology more accessible to seniors.
