AYLUS GC Volunteers Improve Friends of the Garden City Library Website 10/30/2026

AYLUS Garden City volunteers continued their support to Friends of the Garden City Library, contributing their technology and design skills to improve the organization’s website.

During this session, Luis and Christian worked together to establish the website’s basic layout, refine existing design elements, and check the availability of potential domain names. These efforts helped lay the groundwork for a more organized and polished online presence for the Friends of the Garden City Library.

This project demonstrates the value of collaboration between student volunteers and local community organizations. By working directly with the Friends of the Library, students have the opportunity to understand the organization’s needs and apply their skills to a real-world project. Rather than simply completing assigned tasks, they work as a team to discuss ideas, improve designs, and contribute to a shared goal.

The experience also allows students to develop practical technology, design, communication, and teamwork skills while learning how their contributions can support a local nonprofit organization. Through this ongoing partnership, AYLUS Garden City aims to create meaningful volunteer opportunities that benefit both the community and the students involved.
