AYLUS Garden City members supported the annual Haunted Hike hosted by the Garden City Bird Sanctuary on Saturday evening, October 24, 2026, 5:45pm-8:15pm.
Along with other student volunteers from the community, Christian, Daniel, Dalwin, Ewan, Luis, and William dressed in costumes and positioned themselves along the sanctuary trails as spooky characters, helping transform the hike into an engaging Halloween experience. The volunteers adapted their performances to visitors of different ages, adjusting how they acted to make the experience appropriately spooky for younger children while offering older children a more thrilling scare. Their efforts helped create a memorable seasonal event for families and hikers of all ages.
Through this community service activity, AYLUS Garden City members supported a local community event and contributed to the Bird Sanctuary’s efforts to bring the community together through seasonal programming. The experience also gave students an opportunity to use creativity, interact with visitors, and collaborate with fellow volunteers to create an enjoyable and age-appropriate experience for everyone.
