The AYLUS Birmingham Branch partnered with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, an organization dedicated to providing contracted animal control services for Jefferson County, handling stray pickups, injured animal rescues, and aggressive animal responses. They investigate reports of animal neglect/abuse and work with owners to improve living conditions. GBHS also takes in surrendered pets, provides medical assessments/vaccinations, and houses them for adoption.
On September 26th, 2026, AYLUS Birmingham Branch members helped do laundry, shred newspapers, clean cat boxes,socialize and feed the kittens and puppies.
