AYLUS volunteers participated in the 2026 CIE/USA-DFW Annual Convention on September 12, 2026, at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott. The convention brought together engineering and technology professionals, students, and community members to exchange ideas and explore developments in engineering and technology.
During the event, our volunteers helped with guest registration and check-in, welcomed and directed guests as they arrived at the venue, and assisted with taking videos of guests entering the event to help document the convention. Volunteers also supported the discussion panels and other program activities, helping with event coordination and ensuring the sessions proceeded smoothly.
Volunteers also helped with the dinner banquet setup, including arranging tables and preparing the venue for the evening program and award presentations. Through these activities, volunteers gained hands-on experience in event organization, teamwork, communication, and professional event support.
The event was also a valuable learning opportunity for the volunteers. By listening to the speakers and discussions, volunteers learned about engineering, technology innovation, artificial intelligence, and career development. Hearing directly from experienced professionals gave the students an opportunity to gain new perspectives and learn about current developments in STEM.
A particularly meaningful part of the event was seeing AYLUS President Charlotte Chen and Vice President Kathleen Jiang receive the Young Achiever Award (YAA). Their recognition was a proud moment for AYLUS and highlighted the achievements of its young members.
Overall, volunteering at the CIE Annual Convention allowed AYLUS members to contribute to a major community event while gaining valuable experience, learning from engineering and technology professionals, and celebrating the accomplishments of fellow young leaders.
