On August 23rd, 2026, the AYLUS Foundation held another Arts & Crafts Workshop, where volunteers continued working on crochet projects to create handmade items for donation to hospitals, homeless shelters, and other community organizations. Building on the experience gained from previous workshops, participants were able to work more confidently and independently.
This workshop was led by Olivia Lin. Since everyone had already developed basic crochet skills through previous sessions, the workshop focused on further improving techniques through practice and discussion. Olivia shared helpful suggestions and demonstrated different ways to improve the crocheting process. Yuxin Zou and Yanyu Zhang exchanged ideas with her, discussed techniques they had learned in earlier workshops, and worked together to solve problems they encountered.
Throughout the workshop, the volunteers shared tips, compared their methods, and helped one another correct small mistakes. These discussions allowed everyone to learn from each other’s experience and improve both the quality and efficiency of their work. The smaller group also gave participants more opportunities to communicate closely and focus on their individual projects.
Overall, the workshop was a productive and enjoyable session. Through continued practice, discussion, and teamwork, participants further strengthened their crochet skills while making steady progress on handmade items for future donations. We look forward to continuing our projects and creating more items to support those in need.
