In this summer, AYLUS continued the crayon drive. All of our volunteers worked together to gather a bunch of unused crayons from families to be donated to those in need. Even with only 2 weeks left before school begun, our volunteers gathered 8.8 pounds of crayons in the short amount of time.
One of our volunteers, Karen Li, went to the New Star Academy afterschool program to share the recycling ideas with young kids, worked with them to separate the usable crayons from those that are too small. We really appreciate all the volunteers’ hard work and the community support!
