On Friday August 14, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Firefighter Park, volunteers Yucheng Fu, Cody Ngo and Baiyu Chen took part in volunteer work supporting children with special‑needs. As we arrived and got settled in the park, we split up to spend time with different kids. I, Baiyu Chen, stayed with one child on the swings, talking and encouraging them while they enjoyed swinging back and forth. And Yucheng played casual badminton with a young girl nearby, adjusting his pace so she could comfortably keep up with the game. Also, Cody moved around the playground, and all three of us also took turns hanging out by the slide, playing simple light‑hearted games with several other children. Not every moment went perfectly smoothly, yet most of the children were engaged and seemed to have a good time out in fresh air. It was a valuable hands‑on experience for us as student volunteers, and we truly cherished this nice, meaningful afternoon spent giving simple companionship to these kids.
