AYLUS Great Neck Branch Tutoring at Station Library 131st (7/28/26)

On Tuesday, July 28th, the Great Neck AYLUS Branch hosted another productive tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library. To start, Olivia Kang assisted a younger child—who wasn’t as familiar with English—with reading, helping her pronounce and understand new words. Further into the session, she assisted another student with an English assignment, involving fill-in-the-blanks and sentence formation. Next, Brian Zhang taught chess to his two students, coaching them through the rules and concepts of the game. Later in the session, he supervised them as they played in the library. Furthermore, Linzi Yeung read a couple of books with her student, helping her with English and speech fluidity. Finally, with reading comprehension and fluency in mind, Lucy Ding guided her student through writing and reading worksheets, offering her help when needed. They ended off with a fun scavenger hunt in the library. In all, the tutoring session was fun and productive; despite the gloomy weather. The next session will be Thursday, July 30th.
