On July 22nd, Anna, two of my classmates, and I volunteered to tutor students in the Artificial Intelligence class at the Virginia Summer Residential Governor School. Together, we spent approximately two hours providing guidance and support as they worked on their final AI projects.
Throughout the tutoring session, we assisted students in understanding key concepts in search algorithms and machine learning, helping them troubleshoot challenges, refine their approaches, and better understand the reasoning behind their solutions. By answering questions and discussing different problem-solving strategies, we aimed to build both their technical knowledge and confidence as they completed their projects.
This experience was rewarding because it allowed us to share what we had learned while supporting our peers in achieving their project goals. We were glad to contribute to a collaborative learning environment where students could develop their AI skills and complete their final projects with greater confidence.
