On July 6th, 2026, five of us — Eric, Ryan, Roy, Jacob, and Leo — volunteered at the Senior Care Center (24-20 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ) from 9:00 to 10:30 AM to teach local seniors how to use AI tools in their everyday lives. We each put together our own presentation slides and walked the seniors through topics we genuinely found useful: identifying plants by photo, spotting scams in texts and emails, comparing prices while shopping, setting up voice dictation so you never have to type, and looking up medication and health information safely. It was really cool to see the seniors light up when they realized how much AI could actually help them — and honestly, explaining it to someone else made us understand it better too!
We’re already planning our next session, where we’ll help seniors download and set up AI apps like ChatGPT directly on their phones, and then guide them through hands-on practice so they can try it out for themselves. We can’t wait to see them go from curious to confident. More updates coming soon!
