AYLUS Syosset volunteers at CCE Farmers Market 6/27/26

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, members of AYLUS Syosset volunteered at the weekly CCE Farmers Market held at Eisenhower Park Field 8. The effort was split into three shifts with a maximum of 4 members dedicated to each time slot. The first 4 arrived as early as 7:30AM to set up tents and tables, prepping the area and helping other vendors before the market opened to the public at 9:00 AM. Throughout the day, volunteers assisted various local vendors selling items like flowers, fresh honey products, farm groceries, cookies, and spices. Finally, the afternoon shift helped wind things down when the market closed at 1:00 PM, assisting vendors and packing away the tables and tents by 2:00 PM.

Our volunteers kept busy across the entire market! At the entrance, a trio of members manned the front tent, greeting attendees and keeping a steady headcount of the day’s visitors. Right in the middle of the field, we set up a kids’ tent packed with coloring, worksheets, and 4th of July theme activities. The kids also stayed active with hula hoops, jump ropes, and soccer balls with even some adults coming by to pick up color sheets. The third tent that was set up was dedicated to barbecue advice and tips to prep shoppers for the coming holiday weekend.  To tie it all together, our floating volunteers roamed the grounds to carry heavy shopping bags, answer questions, and direct everyone to the newly relocated Taste New York booth.
