SMILE 4 Special Needs (#280): Volunteers Support LSA Summer SMILE Camp for Special Needs (#139) on June 24, 2026

On June 24, 2026, Pearland AYLUS volunteers assisted staff at the 2026 LSA Summer Camp held at the Special Needs Caring Center, helping provide engaging and meaningful activities for campers with special needs.

Volunteers supported participants in preparing milk and snacks, giving them opportunities to practice important independent living skills in a safe and encouraging environment. In addition, volunteers organized social skills activities and led interactive music games using rhythm sticks. Through music, rhythm, and coordinated movements, participants practiced following directions, improving motor skills, and developing an appreciation for musical patterns and rhymes.

The campers actively participated in the activities and enjoyed the positive, supportive atmosphere. These experiences helped strengthen their daily living skills, communication abilities, social interactions, and self-confidence while fostering meaningful connections with volunteers and peers.
