AYLUS volunteers hosted the June session of the SMILE Pearland program for individuals with special needs on June 21, 2026. In celebration of Father’s Day, this month’s theme, “Love Languages,” focused on expressing love, appreciation, and gratitude through creative arts and music activities.
Participants created colorful cascading heart cards and decorated rainbow plates with heartfelt messages for someone special in their lives. They also learned a simple song accompanied by sign language to express “I love you.” The event concluded with a lively dance celebration that filled the room with energy, joy, and enthusiasm.
With the encouragement and support of volunteers, participants not only crafted personalized gifts for their loved ones but also enjoyed an engaging and uplifting musical experience together. These interactive arts, crafts, and music activities helped participants develop fine motor skills, rhythm, and self-expression.
Through these fun and meaningful activities, participants built confidence, strengthened social connections with peers and volunteers, and enjoyed a positive and inclusive learning environment.
SMILE Pearland is a youth-led inclusive program dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs and their families through engaging, skill-building activities in a welcoming and supportive environment.
