Event 137: AYLUS Morris Branch Partners with the United Methodist Church to Fight Hunger in June 2026

On June 23, 2026, AYLUS Morris Branch proudly partnered with the United Methodist Church in a community effort to help fight hunger and support families facing food insecurity. Through the generosity of local residents and the dedication of AYLUS volunteers, the branch organized a food collection drive focused on gathering canned goods and other nonperishable food items.

Over the course of the drive, community members donated approximately 30 pounds of canned and shelf-stable food. The collected items included canned vegetables, soups, pasta, rice, beans, and other essential pantry staples. These donations will help provide nutritious meals to individuals and families in need throughout the local community.

The success of this initiative was made possible by the strong support of neighborhood residents who responded generously to the call for donations. AYLUS members worked together to collect, sort, and prepare the food items for delivery. Their teamwork and commitment demonstrated the organization’s mission of encouraging youth leadership through meaningful community service.

On June 23 at 5:00 PM, AYLUS volunteers delivered the donated food to the distribution center coordinated through the United Methodist Church. The food will be distributed to local families and individuals experiencing hardship, helping to ensure that community members have access to basic necessities.

Food insecurity continues to affect many households, and even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. By partnering with the United Methodist Church, AYLUS Morris Branch provided an opportunity for young volunteers and community members to come together in service of a common cause.

AYLUS Morris Branch extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed donations and volunteered their time. The branch looks forward to continuing its partnership with community organizations and supporting future initiatives that promote compassion, service, and positive impact throughout the community.
