On June 16, 2026, Pearland AYLUS volunteers assisted staff in providing engaging activities, including shopping, cooking lunch, and games for campers attending the 2026 LSA Summer Camp at the Special Needs Caring Center.
Volunteers accompanied participants on a shopping trip to purchase ingredients needed for meal preparation. They provided individualized support as participants learned how to prepare and cook simple foods, helping them develop important independent living skills. Volunteers also led cup games that encouraged participants to practice following directions, taking turns, and working cooperatively with others.
Participants enjoyed the fun and meaningful activities, which helped strengthen their life skills, communication abilities, and social interactions in a supportive environment.
