On June 14th, 2026, AYLUS members continued the work of the Crayon Drive by helping package the sorted crayons into hand-made, crayon boxes recycled from old tissue boxes. This was the first official “box making event” and helped us fine tune the process of packaging the crayon. This information will be vital in helping us implement the faster and better methods for the future.

The next day, on June 15th, AYLUS members were able to drop off a total of around 20 recycle boxes of crayons to Ms. Fang Wang, Early Childhood Instructional Specialist, who will help us deliver them to local Pre-K Centers.

This event was a natural next step in the Crayon Drive and we hope to expand operations to more schools and communities in the future.

Volunteer hours:

Karen Li (Event Leader): 6hours (crayon sorting, box making, drop off)

Melody Zhang: 3 hours

Ruishu Zhang: 3 hours

Kathleen Jiang: 1 hour

Ryan Ma: 1 hour
