Today at Fellowship Village, AYLUS volunteers assisted seniors with a variety of technology-related questions and challenges. One volunteer helped a resident navigate iPad touch and accessibility settings and troubleshoot issues with Facebook following a recent software update. Another senior received assistance with removing a saved Facebook account from their device. Volunteers also helped residents take photos, create and manage passwords for various apps and websites, and learn how to take selfies. In addition, they worked with seniors to resolve issues and bugs within the Messages app.
Beyond providing technical support, these interactions created valuable opportunities for meaningful connections between volunteers and seniors. Through patience, communication, and shared experiences, volunteers helped residents feel more confident using technology while fostering friendships and trust. These relationships play an important role in strengthening the community, bringing generations together, and creating a more connected and supportive environment for everyone involved.
