AYLUS Great Neck Branch Holds AAPI Event at the Main Library 56th (5/9/26)

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Great Neck Library started off with a storytime led by Ryder Li reading Monkey’s Sweet Surprise, following up with Nathan Li reading the book We Are American, Too by Kristen Mei Chase, and wrapping it up with John reading The Nian Monster by Andrea Wang. After the storytime, everyone transitioned to do crafts where volunteers worked with the children. Jolynn created clay bears for Mother’s Day while Christina, Andrew, and Goldman created origami swans and other origami crafts while Rainie led crochet. These hands-on activities gave the children to learn how to make their own clay bears and create origami at the same time.
