
On May 5th, Great Neck AYLUS hosted another successful tutoring session at the Great Neck Library Station Branch from 6:00-7:00 pm. Junlin assisted a 4th grade student with a variety of special math problems that involved a lot of critical thinking skills. Having to think out of the box, the problems were a lot of fun to complete. Jason helped another student with earth science, studying the movements of tectonic plates and beginning to prepare for the regents exam. He also helped with algebra I too, assisted her with a variety of problems involving the maths field too. Next, Brian helped a fifth grade student with reading comprehension questions. Having to read 5 different texts and answer a numerous of multiple choice questions in regards to the text. They also worked on a bunch of mathematical questions, involving a lot of questions about area and perimeter of different 2d shapes like square, rectangle and more. Lastly, Ethan helped a younger student with spelling a bunch of fundamental words that are essential for writing. Even with the few volunteers today it was another successful tutoring session as everyone finished their work on time and efficiently.
