AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers for Great Neck Park District (57th) 4/26/26

On April 26th, 2026, AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteered at Kings Point Park to continue improving the park’s walking paths. Using various tools, we leveled uneven sections of the trail to create a safer and more enjoyable experience for visitors. Although the weather was a bit cold, we persevered and remained committed to completing our assigned tasks. We worked efficiently as a team and stayed focused despite the challenging conditions.

During the event, one of our group members suggested that we also clean up litter while repairing the paths. We collected items such as beer bottles, plastic water bottles, and other trash, placing everything into garbage bags. We also used a new tool, a trash picker, which helped us collect litter more effectively while keeping our hands clean. Despite the difficulty of walking off-trail through bushes and thorny areas, we worked together to clear a safe path for one another.

We will continue to dedicate ourselves to this project and uphold AYLUS’s mission of serving others through meaningful and practical volunteer work.
