Operation Ornaments is a nonprofit organization that helps bring Christmas joy and comfort to people who have been impacted by natural disasters. The organization collects handmade ornaments from volunteers across the country and sends them to disaster survivors as a reminder that they are remembered, loved, and not alone during the holiday season. For families who may have lost homes, belongings, or special holiday memories, receiving handmade ornaments can be a meaningful symbol of hope and kindness.
The AYLUS branch of San Ramon/Danville had the opportunity to support Operation Ornaments by creating handmade holiday ornaments for the families they serve. Volunteers used creativity and care to make ornaments that could brighten someone’s Christmas tree and bring a small piece of joy during a difficult time. Each ornament represented a message of encouragement from our community to families who are rebuilding after hardship.
Through this project, our members were able to combine service, compassion, and creativity in a meaningful way. Making ornaments was a simple but heartfelt way to support Operation Ornaments’ mission and help spread holiday cheer to disaster survivors. We are grateful for the chance to contribute to an organization that reminds people across the country that they are cared for and remembered.
