On March 29th, 2026, two members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch spent their morning collecting and delivering a generous supply of fresh flowers donated by Trader Joe’s to Charles House in Chapel Hill.
Volunteers Selena Wang and Irena Gao worked together to carefully gather the blooms and transport them to Charles House, a nonprofit organization that provides enriching care for seniors and those with dementia within the Carol Woods Retirement Community. The flowers will be used by the senior residents in their beloved flower arrangement activities, offering a joyful and creative outlet that brightens both their mornings and their living spaces.
Flower delivery has become a cherished and recurring part of our branch’s service commitment, a small but meaningful gesture that brings warmth and color into the lives of those who receive them. Selena and Irena were glad to give their time on a Sunday morning, continuing the tradition of showing up for our community’s seniors with care and consistency.
Volunteers who participated in this event were: Selena Wang (03/29/2026, 2 hours), Irena Gao (03/29/2026, 2 hours)
