AYLUS Dix Hill’s Volunteers help out at the Long Island Chinese School

On March 22nd, between 1:30 and 4:30 pm, AYLUS members volunteered at SUNY Old Westbury to help out the Long Island Chinese School. In each classroom, volunteers provided educational help, printed and created tests, and fostered a healthy learning environment.

During 3:30 to 4:30 pm, volunteers helped usher children from their classrooms to their extracurricular clubs. This time, AYLUS volunteers helped out at the intermediate chess class. A new tournament was held, and volunteers set up boards, kept track of wins, and taught players different opening tactics. After the games were done, volunteers helped the students clean up the pieces and tidy up the classroom. Overall, thanks to the work of AYLUS volunteers, they were able to make the Long Island Chinese School a more safe and fun place to learn.
