On Monday, December 8th from 5:30-7, Katherine Zeeng, Ting Lan Chen, Jolynn Li and Xinran Wang, volunteered at the Accessible Art Program at Great Neck House.
We usually help students with special needs learn different art crafts in this program. Today we built a gingerbread house with the students for something Christmas themed as the holiday approached. Volunteers helped by helping each student to assemble their houses to make sure it was sturdy and decorate it. There was a variety of candy that we could all use to decorate the houses and small gingerbread men that we could decorate too. Each lesson and week is special as students get to learn different fun projects while being creative. We listened to music while working and socialized, giving everyone a chance to share their thoughts.
