On May 3rd, 2025, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered at the STAT Horse Sanctuary to support the care and upkeep of rescued horses. Upon arrival, the volunteers began by cleaning out the stalls—shoveling through dirt and mud to remove waste, loading it into wheelbarrows, and taking turns dumping the contents into a larger compost pile. While working, they met a young, playful stallion who quickly captured everyone’s attention with his energetic personality.
Members were asked to help prepare the grounds for a fundraising event taking place later that day. They pulled weeds, leveled uneven areas, and cleaned up the surrounding space to ensure it was safe and welcoming for visitors. In addition, they gathered extra grass to feed the horses, who seemed very happy and excited to receive the fresh treat.
