AYLUS Greater Memphis Members Package Sweet Potatoes to Combat Food Insecurity November 23

On November 23, 2024, AYLUS Greater Memphis Branch members joined forces to help package 40,000 pounds of sweet potatoes, contributing to the fight against food insecurity. This event brought together volunteers from elementary school to high school seniors, all working towards a common goal. The sweet potatoes will be distributed to various communities, providing a vital lifeline for many during the Thanksgiving season.

The event was even featured in the news, underscoring the significant impact these efforts have on the community. Volunteers worked diligently to sort, package, and prepare the sweet potatoes for distribution. Their contribution symbolizes hope and support for those facing food insecurity. Each member will receive the following hours:

  1. Eric Chen and Ella Chen: 1.5 hours
  2. Irvin Ju: 1.25 hours
  3. Daniel Wang: 1 hour
  4. Eric Qin: 1.5 hours
  5. Joshua Dong: 1.5 hours
  6. Oswald Chen: 1.5 hours
  7. Amanda Xiao: 1.5 hours
  8. Elliot Chen: 1.5 hours
  9. Osborn Chen: 1.5 hours
  10. Mia Gao and Dominic Gao: 1.25 hours each
  11. Cece Gao: 0.75 hours
  12. Emma Wang: 1.5 hours
  13. Tim Zhu: 1.5 hours
  14. Sophie Zhan: 1.5 hours
  15. Qianmo Yang and Jeffrey Yang: 1 hour each
  16. Lucas Zhang: 1.5 hours
  17. Phoebe Miao, Abbie Miao, and Maggie Miao: 1.08 hours each
  18. Charlotte Cheng: 1.5 hours
  19. Muyao Zhang: 1 hour
  20. Ethan Xu: 1.5 hours
