On June 29th, 2023, three students from the Jericho School District in New York re-founded the sixty-second branch for the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS): Jericho, NY.

Description

In founding AYLUS Jericho, our organization is dedicated to uplifting the underprivileged. We are driven by a commitment to serve those in need and make a tangible difference in their lives. Our primary aim is to use our collective efforts and resources to support those facing adversity in our community and beyond. We recognize the importance of reaching out to the marginalized and underserved, determined to make a meaningful impact by offering assistance where it is most needed.

 

Highlights

On December 10, 2023, AYLUS Jericho had our first event. We partnered with Island Harvest at a food drive at Hicksville’s Stop & Shop. Our  volunteers distributed flyers, encouraged, and collected donations, including food, cash, toiletries, and gift cards. Their efforts resulted in almost 1000lbs of food and over $500 in donations, providing substantial support to families in need.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On March 3rd, 2024, members of the Jericho AYLUS branch participated in a heartwarming event at the Ronald McDonald House, known for supporting families traveling for their children’s medical care. As part of the “Treats From the Heart” program, the volunteers spent two hours baking homemade cookies and brownies in the Ronald McDonald House kitchen. Providing comfort and warmth to young cancer patients.
