Reported by Jerry Yang, Eric Huang and Cici Sun
On October 6, AYLUS Lake Washington Branch members Eric, Jerry, Kevin, Emily, and Elissa volunteered at the Little Masters Bike-a-Thon and helped with mixed works from setting up event tables, flags, and banners, to checking attendees in and out, as well as distributing award medals, and fundraising. Members Jerry, Kevin, and Eric helped fundraise a sum of almost $100 and provided aid to attendees in need. Meanwhile, members Elissa and Emily helped check in and check out, making sure bikers complete the safety rules training, helping with name tags, assisting in directing attendees toward important locations, and distributing medals.
Our members agreed that this experience was educational and helped them develop their communication skills. The Little Masters Bike-a-Thon provided an opportunity for people of all ages to come together.
Our branch members volunteered from 8:00am to 1:00pm, contributing a total of 25 volunteer hours:
- Eric Huang: 5hrs
- Jerry Yang: 5hrs
- Elissa Song: 5hrs
- Kevin Chen: 5hrs
- Emily Qi: 5hrs
