On September 6th, 2024, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS hosted one of its many great volunteering activities, this one in particular, hosted a weekly sports day in firefighter park promoting amiability to kids who need help. Today, members of AYLUS played ping pong, jump rubber bands and ropes. One of our volunteers taught one of the kids to play ping pong. While others jump rubber bands having their parents hold the bands for them. We engage in delightful conversations with kids who’re sometimes too embarrassed or socially aloof to other people. We had an incredible 1.5 hrs, we all wished that these activities could last longer. Under the warmth of the evening Sun, we shared moments of joy and laughter among us, no matter how tiring the rest of the day may be, and I think those moments should be one of the most precious and charitable things a kid could ask for.
