Oakland Gardens Branch Watering the Community Gardens (08/28/2024)

During the 28th of August, our branch went to P.S. 390Q for our 115th event to help take care of their garden by watering the plants and helping with removing any weeds. This event started at 5:00 pm and ended at 6:30 pm. Lots of the plants seemed dried up, so we came this day to prevent more plants from drying up and to help them strive.

We started with untangling the hoses and picking out the weeds in the flowerbeds. It was very extraordinary given the weather was extremely hot.  We used the hoses to water the plants and used the buckets for long travel where the hose was not at. We were keen to add more water to the flower beds with bigger plants as they need more water to survive, rather than the flower beds with smaller plants, which would eventually be as big as the other plants.

We all hope that this garden will strive and grow greater than ever. Thanks to all members of AYLUS for putting their time and effort attending this event to be able to help the environment and our community.
