On Saturday, August 17th, 2024, AYLUS Pearland hosted a garage sale at Silverlake Scofield
community, Pearland. There are 2 shifts from 6:45-9:45am and 9:45am-12:45pm. Starting at 6:30
am, parents and members set up advertisement signs in the community and arranged sale
items. People started lining up at the driveway at 7:00 AM, while AYLUS volunteers helped them
select items and calculate costs. We have a large variety of items, many customers call their
relatives to join them in buying bicycles, clothes, shoes, toys, school supplies, chairs and pets’
equipment too. At around 11:30am, the volunteers started cleaning up by dividing the unsold
items into boxes. That will be donated to good will and churches in Mexico.
The total funds raised from this event, including the online and onsite presale, it was $315.30,
All the funds will be used to support a variety of high school extracurricular activities through a
formal AYLUS Pearland fund application and approval procedure that was initiated this year.
