On May 19, 2024, from 3 to 4:30 pm, Evan Wu, Cece Gao, Mia Gao, Dominic Gao, Amanda Xiao, Charlotte Cheng, Daniel Wang, Alex Shi, Evan Shi, Osborn Chen, Oswald Chen, and Zoe Chen played chess, Bingo, and puzzles with senior residents at Germantown Plantation Assisted Living and Gardens of Germantown in Germantown, TN. Charlotte Cheng and Alex Shi spent an additional 1.5 hours at Gardens of Germantown. They were warmly welcomed by the weekend staff and senior residents.

They organized three lemonade sale groups to support Tennessee’s Regional Intervention Program (RIP), a program founded by TN Mental Health that helps parents communicate with children exhibiting challenging behaviors. The volunteers chose RIP due to the growing links between crime and mental illness, believing that addressing these issues early can mitigate the adverse effects of mental illness in children.

Also, Rodger Shao and Lucas Zhang helped with moving equipment and setting up tents for the Memphis Dragon Boat Festival at Shelby Farm Park. Additionally, Anna Zou, Mia Gao, Dominic Gao, and Abbie Mao helped sell water for donations. Anna Zou participated from 3:30 to 7:00 pm, Mia Gao and Dominic Gao from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and Abbie Mao from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.
