On 7/6/24, volunteers in Aylus Syosset went to Eisenhower Park to help in the Cornell Cooperative Extension Farmers Market. The market’s purpose was to support local businesses and bring awareness to the benefits of eating fresh produce. These businesses would sell locally made bread, pickles, jams, cheeses and much more.
Starting from as early as 8:30 AM, volunteers helped set up the CCE tents which had a table for fun activities such as word searches and coloring sheets for the kids and a table for information on the whole event. Throughout the morning, volunteers stood at the informational tent, welcoming visitors and also at the activities tent, welcoming the kids and helping them with their worksheets.
Members participated: Alyssa Huang (2hrs), Nicole Zhang (4hrs), Margaret Zhang (4hrs), Sophie Liu (4hrs), Brian Li(4h), Richard Li(4h).
