On 2/28/24,West Essex members volunteered in martial art class for special needs children.
Individual sports are great for a child with autism, particularly martial arts such as karate, capoeira, judo and jiu-jitsu. The Tae Kwan Do class offered for special needs children aimed to help on participants’ self-esteem, their friendships and their confidence. We aim to empower individuals with disabilities through martial arts training by improving issues like hand/eye coordination, motor control, balance, focus, conditioning, time on task, and other challenges children with special needs face on a day to day basis.
