Woodbridge CT Branch Helping at Woodbridge Earth Day Event April 27, 2024

For the Woodbridge town’s Earth Day event, AYLUS Woodbridge joined forces with the Friends of the Library, a local nonprofit dedicated to repurposing and reselling books to generate additional funds for the library. Our team arrived early to assist with preparations and stayed through the majority of the event, providing invaluable support to ensure the success of the Friends of the Library’s participation.

Our volunteers began by helping to carry out boxes of books from the library, transporting them to the Earth Day event site for display and sale. This essential task ensured that the Friends of the Library had ample materials to offer during the event, reinforcing their mission to repurpose books and generate funds for the library’s budget.

Throughout the event, our group actively participated in manning the tables, engaging with attendees, and assisting with book sales. We also took on the role of distributing coupons to promote sales and encourage visitors to support the Friends of the Library’s cause. This multifaceted approach not only contributed to the event’s overall success but also showcased our commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement, and support for local institutions.

By volunteering at the Woodbridge town’s Earth Day event, AYLUS Woodbridge demonstrated its dedication to fostering a vibrant community and supporting initiatives that have a lasting positive impact. The event highlighted the importance of teamwork and the role we can play in promoting environmental consciousness and enriching local resources.
