This program’s goal is to provide English guidance to the elderly who do not know much English. Volunteers are needed for 1 on 1 tutoring sessions. By helping these elderly improve their English, the goal is to make communication smoother and life easier for them.
The medium used to teach the English language is the Bible. Many of the seniors are familiar with it in their own language, so using the Bible is a good way to bridge the language barrier and get the seniors comfortable with English.
Other sessions had the use of educational material targeted specifically for ESL seniors.
The sessions were hosted over both zoom video and face to face and lasted one hour per session.
