AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch Volunteers at the Spring Festival Event on 01/27/2024 – 01/28/2024

On January 27th and 28th, 2024, over the weekend, 29 members of AYLUS RC BRANCH participated in the two-day 2024 Southern California Inland Empire Lunar Festival event. The event took place on the streets near the renowned historic Mission Inn hotel in Riverside. Numerous Chinese organizations joined this grand event, and our AYLUS RC BRANCH was also invited to participate.

The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the most significant traditional Chinese holiday celebrated based on the lunar calendar. During this festival, various customs are observed, including writing couplets, dragon and lion dances, making dumplings, among others. This year’s event was the largest in scale in the past decade, featuring sections such as Food Street, Performance Street, Handicrafts Street, and Children’s Amusement Area.

Our responsibilities included stage setup, face painting, writing auspicious characters, and lantern making, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the streets. The event was filled with joyous celebrations, including captivating dragon and lion dance performances, as well as a variety of other entertaining acts. Food Street featured a wide array of Asian cuisine, adding to the festive ambiance.

Furthermore, on the second day, we assisted many booths in selling their handicrafts or festival gifts. The two days passed quickly, with many members volunteering for both days. Below is the list of members who participated in this event and their volunteering hours.
