On April 14, 2024, the volunteers of the AYLUS Raritan Valley Branch donated food and other goods to the spring food drive. Then, the volunteers collected the donations and delivered them to a food bank located in a church in East Brunswick. To give context, the food drive started at March 28, 2024 and ended at April 15, 2024. Each volunteer are tasked to send a photo of themselves holding the goods that they are going to donate. Then, they would send the goods to a specific set of locations. All of these items were stored in bags which got delivered to the food bank.
At the end, we raised a total of at least 135 items ranging from goods to products. The goods were all sent to the food bank. Additionally, some of the members opted to volunteer with the food bank to help people as well. I hope we can have another event like this in order to help the people in need.
