On Saturday, April 13th, 2024, the volunteers of the Aylus Roslyn Branch dedicated four hours to support individuals with cerebral palsy. Our primary aim was to assist these individuals in enhancing their motor skills and connection through activities.
We started our session with a baking activity, collaborating with the residents to create a batch of 18 chocolate chip cookies. From measuring ingredients to shaping dough, the residents were super happy that they were able to bake with us and eat such delicious cookies. Following the baking session, we transitioned into a game of UNO, which was famous in the house for creating competition. Residents participated by selecting and playing their chosen cards, as well as shouting “Uno!” once they were left to one card. To conclude our visit, we engaged in several rounds of BINGO, assisting residents in placing counters and shouting “Bingo!” once they had 5 in a row. The residents expressed gratitude for our presence, requesting our return for a third time.
