AYLUS Great Neck Branch Tutoring Week 13(4/3/2024-4/6/2024)

4/3/2024:

On 4/3/2024, Aylus Great Neck hosted another large tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library. Our volunteers met in the library at around 4:30PM.

Our first student wanted to play some board games with our tutors. Thus, our volunteers Jason Zeng, Siwoo Song and Zhaoyu Liu played some of the board games available at the library, such as Scrabble, Connect 4 and Uno. They had a lot of fun playing all the board games.

Our next two students wanted to get help completing their elementary school math homework while also improving their English speaking skills. Our volunteers Jason Zhang and Xingzhi Li helped each of them with that work and made sure that they used some English in their tutoring.

Our last student wanted to get help understanding her school work as she was not very skilled in English. Our volunteer Ruiqi Liu helped translate some parts of her work to help her complete it successfully.

While we were planning on spending only about 1 hour, we needed some more time to finish up what we were doing and ended up staying for longer. However, after that time we said our goodbyes and left.

Zhaoyu Liu – 1.5 hours
