On April 7th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members assisted at local senior centers.
At Torrey Pines Senior Living: The volunteers helped the residents with their morning workout and stretch of the day. They began with some stretching and burners before doing some breathing exercises. The volunteers prepared a snack of fruit and poured juice and water for the residents, and helped the residents get comfortable. They decorated the area with balloons as it was a resident’s 101st birthday, taping balloons and various decorations to the walls. The volunteers helped comfort the residents, made sure they didn’t scratch themselves by putting gloves on, and spoke with them to calm them down. The residents played a few rounds of trivia and word games, before they were transported to the dining room for lunch.
