The AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers at Planting Fields Arboretum to help get rid of invasive vines. Volunteers used multiple different tools like metal pitchforks, rakes, clippers, and other gardening tools to cut down and gather the vines in a pile for removal. Volunteers cut the vines at the base to put them all in a pile, and then cleaned up the area by removing leaves, weeds, and other debris. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:00 to help take out unneeded plants.
Volunteers: Bryan Fan (3 hrs), Jonathan Fan (2.5 hrs), and Jason Chen (2.5 hrs).
