Murrieta AYLUS Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley #18– ABWK Senior Home Painting Project (4/6/2024)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On April 6th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members lended a hand to the A Brush with Kindness project.
As they arrived in the cold morning the volunteers began taping off the house. The edges were taped off and paper was laid and taped down on top. They then laid out tarps before starting. Marking off their work area, they made sure to apply an even coat and catch drips, starting at a lower level before using ladders to reach higher areas. They turn migrated to the other side of the home, using a smaller brush rather than a roller for the lowest panels as the roller was too large. They took a break before returning to finish the area, then started painting the shed. The shed was also covered with an even coat, finishing off the house. The volunteers then removed and threw away the tape and paper before folding the tarps, bidding goodbye to the site.
