On 3/30/2024, Aylus Great Neck hosted another tutoring session at the Great Neck Library Station Branch. Our three volunteers, Ruiqi Liu, Emma Ding, and Kevin Zhang arrived at the library at around 4:30PM.
We had three separate students, so our volunteers all went their separate ways. Ruiqi Liu helped a student who was struggling to understand the questions in her math class — he went through a few of the math problems she was struggling on to prepare for a state test. Kevin Zhang began to teach a student how to play chess, teaching him the moves and getting him engaged. Emma Ding guided a student on her ELA work, making sure that she was ready for the upcoming state test too.
After one hour and a half, all of us said our goodbyes and left.
