Reported by Lauren Kan.

AYLUS San Diego Branch organized the 2nd collection and recycling of used batteries in March of 2024. Our volunteers collected 18.2 lbs of used batteries. The batteries are dropped at Staples.

Scientific researchers have claimed that recycling batteries can save 51.3% of natural resources. The recycling of batteries will contribute towards conserving our natural resources, saving energy, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The used and old batteries can be repaired.

Aylus aims to conduct monthly recycling of used batteries, anticipating substantial savings in natural resources compared to landfill disposal. This proactive initiative reflects a commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable waste management practices.

The following volunteers participated for 1 volunteering hour.

Kevin Kan,  Lauren Kan,  Felicity Chu, Brianna Chu, Maxwell Yang,  Jessica Chen,  Eric Liang,    Gavin Zheng,  Aliya Tang,  Andrew Zhou,  and Jason Fang
